General Overview

The course will be designed to provide training for those wishing to gain employment in the taxi (Metropolitan) or hire car (VHA) industry . It will assist students in undertaking routine taxi driver duties and to follow established practices in the workplace in a professional and safe manner.
It will also develop skills in collecting, analyzing and organizing information, planning and organizing activities and working with others.

Students can apply if they are able to satisfy the relevant State’s licensing requirements for taxi drivers, and are able to follow simple routine instructions and protocols for taxi assignments.
How to get started as a TAXI DRIVER
1. Download and complete Victoria Police Online Application Form & Instructions
2. Obtain identification documents [originals and photocopies] to comply with the 100 point
identification check
3. Take your completed application form, identification documents and photocopies to an authorized
certifier. Your documents and signature must be witnessed and certified by this person.
4. Post your application form, certified documents and fee [cheque or money order] to the following

5. Download and complete Application For Accreditation To Drive A Metropolitan Taxi And Hire Car

Work Placement
The 21848VIC Course in Taxi Driving provides the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for a taxi license to work as a taxi driver.
Students will comply with the relevant licensing requirements in the State of Victoria. Detailed information can be obtained from the Victorian Taxi Directorate on 1800 638 802.
Completion Requirements, Duration and Student Timetable
To achieve this qualification the student must have demonstrated competency against all 7 core units. Course duration is 9 days full time from 10.00am till 5.00pm. Student Timetable - DAY COURSE.
Our training centre also offers evening classes. Duration of evening classes is 15 nights part time from 5.00pm till 10.30pm. Student Timetable - EVENING COURSE.

VBPAU166 Complete orientation to the taxi industry
VBPAU167 Comply with safety and security procedures
VBPAU168 Use communication systems in a taxi cab
VBPAU169 Carry out financial transactions and maintain records

Course Fees & Charges
The course will cost $700.00, subject to price change. A minimum payment of $150.00 is required prior to course commencement for administration and enrolment fee. Administration fee is inclusive of course fee.
