NEW DRIVER ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS WHO HAVE HELD A VICTORIAN DRIVER LICENCE FOR LESS THAN 12 MONTHS
From 31 August 2009, applicants wishing to apply for a Metropolitan Driver Accreditation to drive a commercial passenger vehicle (TAXI or VHA) who have held a Victorian Driver Licence for less than 12 months will be required to write a letter to the Victorian Taxi Directorate outlining skills and experience relevant to taxi driving, followed by an appointment scheduled by the VTD before undertaking an Independent Driving Assessment.
You will also need to demonstrate to the VTD that you have skills and experience in the following areas:
- Customer Service
- Understanding of the nature of driving a taxi
- A history of previous work experience
- Demonstrate an understanding of high quality customer service
- Speak and understand instructions in English and
- An understanding of Melbourne traffic
