PRS30103    -    Certificate III in Security Operations

                           Armed Guard

 

         

 

General Overview

 

To qualify for the above program students must hold a current Security license and/or completed the PRS20103 - Certificate II in Security Operations. 

 

The aim of the Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard Licensing) program is to develop a student's understanding in providing operational security services in the context of high risk asset protection including responding to security risk situations, maintaining safety, leading teams, defensive tactics, firearms, cash in transit and preparing and presenting security documentation and reports.

 

Upon completion of the Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard) students will gain competency in the following units:

  • PRSS0301A    Prepare and present security documentation and reports
  • PRSS0302A    Maintain a safe workplace and environment
  • PRSS0303A    Determine a response to a security risk situation
  • PRSS0305A    Manage conflict through negotiation
  • PRSS0306A    Maintain effective workplace relationships
  • PRSS0307A    Maintain own work performance and development
  • PRSS0308A    Coordinate a quality security service to customers
  • PRSS0309A    Maintain security of environment
  • PRSS0310A    Control security risk situation using firearms
  • PRSSO316A   Control persons using empty hand techniques
  • PRSSO317A   Control persons using baton
  • PRSSO318A   Restrain persons using handcuffs
  • PRSS0321A    Provide safety for persons at risk
  • PRSS0206A    Providing First Aid
  • PRSS0222A    Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques
  • BSBFLM302A  Support leadership in the workplace

 

What employment opportunities will students have?

The Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard) allows the Armed Security Officer to provide their enhanced skills and knowledge necessary to a larger capacity of security operations.

 

Duration of Course and Starting Dates

This course is delivered in a flexible learning approach incorporating up to 7 days direct delivery at the Broadmeadows Office with additional workplace based tasks and workbooks to be completed in your own time.

Cost

A full payment of $650 for all modules above including accreditation for Revolver and Semi-Automatic handgun.   Minimum deposit of $150.00 is required prior to course commencement and balance due on the day of course commencement date.

Firearms and Baton and Handcuff Modules Only is $400.00

 

Cost

Baton and Handcuff Only is $180.00

 

Note:     If you do not pass the exam or practical shoot for the firearms and baton and handcuffs then

            a $110 fee will apply to resit. Candidates must wait 5 days before resit is allowed.
